Wi-Fi
MU staff and students (but not external readers) can use two Wi-Fi networks to connect to the internet: Eduroam and MUNI.
Wi-Fi guide
Go to the Wi-Fi help page and find the instructions for your operating system.
To download the installation script while on MU premises, start by connecting to the MUNI network with your UČO and secondary password.
Troubleshooting
I cannot log in
Incorrect login: Use your complete email address UČO@muni.cz (or 9XXXXXX@muni.cz for sponsored accounts).
Incorrect password:
Check if your secondary password is working. If necessary,
set up a new password
or save the current password again. Students and employees of Masaryk University who are logging in from another university will still need to use their MU login and password.
My access to eduroam is blocked
- If your account is blocked, you will receive an email explaining the reasons.
- Employees must make sure their employment status is correctly displayed in the MU IS.
- Student access is blocked two months after graduation, termination or interruption of their study programme. This also applies to students who live in the dormitories.
- If you have interrupted your studies over two months ago and you need access to work on your final thesis, you can apply for a guest account. Your thesis supervisor must apply for and guarantee the account. The email application must include information about the account user (name, surname, UČO, contact email address, account expiration date).
After some time, I get disconnected from eduroam and have to log in again
This can be caused by weak Wi-Fi signal or malfunctioning Wi-Fi drivers. Reinstall the driver or adjust the settings. (There is no single driver configuration that will work for everyone as the setting options vary widely between different drivers. In general, you need to focus on the roaming policy. Changing this parameter can improve signal stability in places with multiple signals.) If your device keeps dropping the Wi-Fi connection, we recommend that you set the roaming policy values to low / very low.
I cannot log in or the connection is intermittent
Some access points, particularly those in study rooms and libraries, can get overloaded at peak times, resulting in connection issues. In some cases, it can be helpful to change places or move your laptop slightly on the desk.
When logging in to eduroam, the field for entering my login details does not appear
(Windows 10): Click Start and select Settings. In the menu that appears, click Networks & Internet, then Manage Wi-Fi Settings and Eduroam. Finally, select Remove.
