Study tips and tricks
  • Use electronic information resources ezdroje.muni.cz
    • How to set up the remote access tutorial
    • Check out our manuals on some sources here
    • We recommend Discovery manual as it will help you to search for available journals as well
  • Availability of eBooks
    • You can easily find available eBooks in Discovery - manual here
    • You will also learn how to download eBooks or their parts into PDF
    • Sadly, even these resources have their limits. Access to some eBooks is restricted by a concurrent number of users. E.g. only three users can access Gray's Anatomy for Students at the same time. Therefore we highly recommend to find requested part in the eBook and then download this part into PDF. After download, close the e-book, so your colleagues can access it as well.
  • e-Prezenčka (scanned books)
    • The service e-Prezenčka is available from March 19, temporarily during the state of emergency (until May 18).
    • E-Prezenčka contains 13.000 scanned books from university libraries. Access is permitted only online, download or printing is forbidden.
    • Please read the instruction carefully on it.muni.cz
    • Making e-Prezenčka available wasn't an easy step. Therefore, please respect the rules. It is strictly forbidden to reproduce, download, print, take photos or make copies and distribute the content of the service in any way.
    • Do you need a specific book in e-prezenčka? We can scan it for you! More information here .
  • If you need to access your account on the university computer (library or UCC computers), you can use remote access to a terminal server
    • This option will be welcomed by users who need to access their locally stored files (later you could consider moving your data to the cloud )
    • You can also use some applications installed on university computers
Online information resources
  • In addition to the standard electronic resources available to MUNI, you can use a large number of other, mostly temporarily accessible, resources during the period of the coronavirus outbreak. For example, books from Oxford University Press, National Digital Library Kramerius and others.
  • See this article for an updated overview of selected new online resources.
If you have any question, please do not hesitate to contact us by phone , by e-mail (knihovna@ukb.muni.cz) or by a message on Facebook and Instagram .
