The aim of service

Provide serious candidates for publication in an Open Access journal with information on whether the title adheres principles of transparency and best practice in scholarly journals.


To whom the service is provided

The service is provided exclusively only to current PhD students and academic staff from Masaryk University. Request of other persons will not be processed.

Notice

Within the service you will obtain only identified principles of transparency of specific publication. The service is not provided for journals published by traditional publishers (see list on the right) which are well-known for their adherence to the ethical rules of scientific publishing. The service is time-consuming thus we provide analysis only to serious candidate for publication in an Open Access journal. The final decision whether to publish in a journal is up to the author.

How the service is realised

We check 10 objectively verifiable principles of transparency and best practice in scholarly journals as set out by COPE, DOAJ, OASPA and WAME. Our library provide only the findings on these criteria and it is up to the subscriber to assess the professional quality of the journal and to conclude whether or not the journal is suitable for publication.
